Photographer EDWARD COLVER
“The Eye of LA Punk”
Iconic guitarist, songwriter and vocalist BRIAN SETZER has partnered with Edward Colver—the legendary Los Angeles photographer known as “The Eye of LA Punk”–for a special limited edition, numbered and signed printing of two photos which captured SETZERduring his first Los Angeles performance with his acclaimed rockabilly trio, the Stray Cats.
The idea for the collaboration was sparked by Colver approaching SETZER with a couple of energetic black/white shots that he took of SETZER performing with the Stray Cats at their very first show in Los Angeles at The Roxy in 1980. Now these two exceptional photos have been printed on 11×14″ 100% cotton rag archival paper in pigment ink, and are autographed by both SETZER and Colver in pencil; this marks the first time SETZER or Colver have done any type of collaboration like this. There are 100 limited edition numbered copies of each photo (200 total) being sold for $800 each or get both for the special price of $1,200, ONLY $600 a print!
Edward has created 20th Century Icons with his photos. Colver is best known for his early punk photos. The moments he captured on film will live on as icons not only because of the vision of the photos themselves, but because they eloquently document the birth of punk music, fashion, art and lifestyle in Los Angeles. This web site presents punk rock photography from the photographer who defined the style.
Edward has defined punk photography and continues to leave his mark on music. He has been shooting photographs for over 35 years and never ran an ad, never solicited work, never published his phone number and uses funeral sympathy cards with his information stamped on them for “business cards.”
His work was featured extensively in the film and the book “American Hardcore”. For Licensing and other inquiries: Please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
